Projects & history
Organize multiple files and recover earlier artwork states.
Create and open projects
Use New Project or Open Project to organize a collection of pixel files. Project structure and the artwork inside each file have separate save operations. Name groups around your actual assets rather than a particular export format.
Groups and file organization
Use the project browser to group and arrange files. Animation groups are stored inside each pixel file, while project groups organize files at the project level. Keep that distinction in mind when moving an item.
Version History
Open Version History to inspect retained versions. Review the version before restoring it. Artwork Undo/Redo is useful for immediate edits; saved versions help with a longer history.
History and recovery are not substitutes for your own backups. Keep important projects in a backed-up folder, especially before changing formats or opening them with a different application version.
Recover unsaved files
Use Recover Unsaved File when a recoverable file is available. Save the recovered result to a known location after checking it. A floating paste is still a pending operation; confirm it before relying on a saved file to contain those pasted pixels.
