Plugins
Local plugins and permissions in the experimental foundation.
Experimental status
The plugin system is experimental. It has a top-level Plugins menu and local installation; no marketplace or store is offered. Compatibility and API details may change.
Install a plugin
Choose Plugins → Install Plugin and select a local .pxplugin package. Review the manifest information, compatibility and permissions in Plugin Manager. Do not assume a plugin from another application uses the same format.
Permissions and artwork edits
Review the package identity, author, version, minimum application version and requested permissions before installation. The current API rejects network and arbitrary filesystem permissions. Declared document operations can read or modify artwork, and supported pixel edits honor the selection and commit as one undoable edit.
Approval does not make a third-party plugin a Rockr Studio product. A changed package requires another review. Its author may provide separate terms for the plugin and any bundled content.
Enable, disable, reload and uninstall
Use Plugin Manager to enable, disable or uninstall an installed plugin. Reload Plugins refreshes the local plugin list. If a plugin fails, read its error and disable it while diagnosing the problem; save your artwork before further testing.
Supported extension areas
The current build contains versioned API 1 and 2 contracts for commands, menus, context menus, utility panels, tool presets, CCT preview operations, palette operations, animation utilities and read-only project inspection. Custom gesture tools, codecs and Preview extensions require a later host contract and are not supported by this API. There is no plugin marketplace.
