Pixel Studio Software License
Your artwork stays yours. The software is licensed separately.
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Website license version 2026-10-01.2. The licensor is Robin Dhital, operating as Rockr Studio. In this license, “Rockr Studio” refers to that operator. This license applies to authorized copies supplied under these terms. Existing copies retain the license included with them; this page does not silently replace it.
1. Software and artwork are different
This End User License Agreement (EULA) covers Pixel Studio software supplied by Rockr Studio under this license. The software is licensed, not sold. Pixel Studio software, original source code, branding and Rockr Studio-owned assets remain owned by Robin Dhital, operating as Rockr Studio, except for third-party components whose rights remain with their respective holders.
You retain ownership of the artwork and other content you create, subject to rights in any third-party material you use and agreements you have made with others. Using Pixel Studio does not give Rockr Studio ownership of your artwork, or a license to publish, train on, sell, or otherwise use it.
2. Permission to use Pixel Studio
When you obtain an authorized copy, Rockr Studio grants you a non-exclusive license to install and use that copy in accordance with these terms and any edition-specific terms clearly provided with it. You may use the Free edition to create personal and commercial artwork. This license does not impose a royalty or require attribution to Pixel Studio on your artwork.
A Pro purchase grants the software usage rights described in the applicable order; it does not transfer ownership of the software. Pro is not currently on sale. Any price, license duration, permitted users or devices, renewal terms, and included services must be stated before a future purchase. This page does not set unannounced limits or a subscription model.
3. Sharing links and protecting paid access
You are welcome to share official Pixel Studio download and store links. Unless Rockr Studio authorizes it, or mandatory law or an applicable third-party license permits it, you may not redistribute Pro installers or binaries, share paid access or license credentials to provide unauthorized access, resell the software or paid access, repackage it as another product, or bypass license or payment controls.
Do not remove applicable copyright or license notices, or distribute modified copies as an official Rockr Studio release. These restrictions apply to the software, not to distributing or selling your own artwork. Rights that mandatory law grants, including applicable interoperability, backup, or lawful transfer rights, are not excluded.
4. Local files and optional sharing
Your local artwork is not automatically uploaded merely because you open or edit it in Pixel Studio. Local editing does not require a Rockr Studio account. You choose what to send when using sharing, contacting support, or another external service.
Current optional collaboration uses an explicitly created or joined session on a Windows computer or file-sharing network. It is snapshot sharing and comments, not live simultaneous editing. Any future hosted accounts, cloud storage, or collaboration service will need its own disclosed service and privacy terms. This software license does not promise or purchase cloud capacity.
5. Third-party components and content
Third-party software, fonts, plugins, and assets remain subject to their own terms. Their rights holders retain their rights. Component license terms take precedence over this EULA for that component where the terms conflict; this EULA does not narrow rights granted by those licenses. See the included Third-Party-Licenses.txt and the Third-Party Licenses page.
You are responsible for having permission to use material you import and for complying with its terms. A plugin is not automatically endorsed by Rockr Studio because Pixel Studio can load it.
6. Development releases, support, and purchases
Pixel Studio is actively being developed. Back up important work; development releases may contain defects and features may change. A voluntary support payment helps development and is separate from buying Pro. It does not automatically grant a Pro license or a particular future feature unless an explicit campaign or reward says so.
Purchase details and any applicable refund or withdrawal process must be provided separately before paid sales open. See Purchase & Refund Terms. These terms do not remove mandatory consumer rights or statutory remedies.
7. Responsibility and mandatory protections
To the extent permitted by applicable law, development software is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted or error-free operation or fitness for a particular purpose. Rockr Studio does not exclude obligations, warranties, remedies, or liability that applicable law does not allow it to exclude, including mandatory consumer protections.
Nothing here limits your ownership of, or right to recover, your artwork. Keep independent backups. No continuous online license check or remote artwork deletion is established by this license.
8. Changes, breach, and contact
A materially different license will be identified by a new version and presented when it applies. Merely editing an existing local file does not record acceptance of new terms. A future acceptance record may contain the EULA version, acceptance date, and application version.
Rockr Studio may seek to end software usage rights for a material breach only subject to applicable law and any required notice or opportunity to remedy it. This does not transfer or delete your artwork, or remove rights under third-party licenses. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to the extent permitted by law.
